One of the great joys of being a wedding photographer is that when you meet an amazing couple, you get to know and photograph the weddings of their amazing friends. We met Mike and John through such friends, Emily and Vadim, whose wedding we photographed in 2016. And next year we get to photograph Jaye and Sam's wedding!
Michael and John are two of the nicest and most thoughtful people we have ever met. This was validated again and again through the entire wedding day with the show of support and love from their friends and family. They chose Jones River Trading Post for the venue as it is close to where they both grew up, near gorgeous cranberry bogs and the seashore. They started the day getting ready at their parent's homes, and met up for their first look on a private dock on the bay. We had just enough twilight to get a beautiful portrait of them at a cranberry bog en route to the reception.
The ceremony was officiated by a friend and held inside the reception hall. Guest showed their support by raising their hands to bless them as part of the ceremony. After the ceremony and cocktail hour, East Coast Soul turned up the volume and the dance moves, raising the roof well into the night.
It was an honor to be there for them and we are excited to be sharing their photos. Congratulations Michael and John!!

I had such an amazing day with Hilary and David as they celebrated their wedding in the heart of downtown Boston. I met Hilary's mom Suzie when I was photographing a party for her friends just over a year ago and luckily it didn't take long for her to get Hilary and David in touch with me for their wedding photography.
When I arrived at the Intercontinental Hilary and her bridesmaids were enjoying having their hair and make-up done with some drinks and music while David and the guys were just down the hall doing the same, minus the make-up and hair stylist. They had their first look at the entrance of Boston's Old City Hall, directly behind Kings Chapel where they would exchange vows. The weather was amazing. It was one of those perfect spring days with beautiful light, no wind and warm, but not too warm. After their first look and portraits they exchanged vows in the historic Kings Chapel and everyone in attendance joined in for a song. The joy in both Hilary and David can be seen in the images as they couldn't stop smiling and laughing. I loved every minute of it.
I always love the personal reasons our couples have for the details of the day, such as the jewel pinned to Hilary's dress that has been passed down for many generations by the women in her family, to the choice of venue for it's funky art work and great wine list, to Kings Chapel which is affiliated with the chapel Hilary grew up attending enabling her childhood minister to marry them.
Hilary was gorgeous in her Vera Wang gown from Alexia's Bridal and David's Indochino suit was perfect for him. Their amazing flower arrangements were designed by Poppy Floral and Tiffany and Lisa from Specialty Events made all the ladies look their very best.
Les Zygomates is a stone throw from the Kings Chapel and we made our way there on a shuttle. Les Zygomates event manager Jeri is a rockstar and made sure the guests had an amazing evening. It is a fantastic restaurant for a wedding with two bars, plenty of seating, and a nice dance floor with a great city vibe. After some toasts and a fantastic dinner, DJ Mike (very cool guy) kicked off the party and the dancing was on for the night. Friends served Tequila shots on the dance floor and we ended the night with some fun in the city streets.
Congratulations Hilary and David! It was an honor to be there for you and I am excited to share these with you all! Cheers ~ Matt
