We are very excited to be sharing Jen and Slava's urban wedding at Warehouse XI! These two lovebirds met at a mutual friend's party in Queens, NY. But it almost was not to be as Jen had RSVP'd "no" to attend, but a friend convinced her to go and there she met Slava. For about a month they had a long distance relation between Boston and NYC when fortunately Jen was offered a job in Boston. They moved in together shortly afterwards and as you can see, today they are a married couple. :)
Jen and Slava wanted a very relaxed, chill wedding. Jen said she googled "relaxed Boston wedding" or something like that, and found the Warehouse XI venue. They loved getting married in their town, with their own community, supporting local businesses. Jen told me, "We love the warehouse vibe - rustic chic! It felt cool and like we could really make the space our own." And when they initially emailed me, they used those exact words to describe what they wanted in their photography. I loved it and knew we were a perfect fit. The icing on the cake was when they sent me an email after booking me letting me know they hired Renee from Urban Soiree to plan their day. Renee and I have worked together for over eight years making sure couples have the day they want, and we love working together!
The day started at the Taj Boston as Jen and Slava spent time with their friends and dressed for the day. It was a perfect spring day and we ventured across the street to the Public Gardens for their first look and portraits. The Garden was packed that day as people needed to shake off their cabin fever, but we had fun with the crowds and found some space without people. If you visit the Garden regularly you'll recognize the music man who has a homemade contraption with about 100 instruments on it. We loved seeing him as he was also in the Garden the day we did their engagement session. Click here to check out that session. From the Garden we caught a Lyft (had the greatest driver ever!) to Somerville and met up with their families and friends for some group portraits before the ceremony.
The ceremony was held in the park adjacent to Warehouse XI. Friends contributed by officiating, reading, and playing music. Grandpa even arrived with his video camera to record the moment. After the ceremony they enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour before heading inside for the big celebration. You'll see below one of my favorite images of the day is from when I found Jen and Slava snuggling up to each other at the ceremony site catching some alone time and taking it in during cocktail hour. It was a truly intimate and beautiful moment. And if I am going to mention great moments, can I saw how much I enjoyed catching Jen snacking on some Goldfish just before the ceremony!
Stoked Pizza catered the reception with some amazing pizzas and appetizers (best pepperoni pizza I've ever had) and Zack of White label DJ's kept everyone on their feet having a great time. It was a fantastic evening full of emotion, love and support. I am stoked to be sharing these images!
Congratulations Jen and Slava!!!!
