Enna and I are excited to share Lauren and Kyle's wedding the blog today! Their wedding was especially fun for us as we have photographed the weddings for several couples in this circle of old family friends, so we knew so many of the guests at their wedding. It's always great to walk into a reception and see familiar faces and catch up.
What Lauren learned when she met Kyle in 2010 was that wearing cowboy boots opens her up for the not so awesome pick up line, “are you afraid of snake bites?” But the line did buy Kyle 45 minutes of her time for a conversation that resulted in a date the next week. They quickly learned that Kyle is better with chopsticks, Lauren is better at darts, and Kyle doesn't plan a dead battery in his Jeep just to spend more time with her. Kyle proposed at The Top of the Hub over a nice meal he hardly touched. His proposal started with lyrics from Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" and ended with a well received yes from Lauren. They left the restaurant, Kyle leaving his meal untouched, to have drinks at Solas on Boylston St. where their families and closest friends were waiting for them. Now Lauren knows why he wasn’t eating: it was because of the platters of food they had waiting along with a cake at Solas.
They admit that it’s so true that your wedding all goes by in a blur. They both loved every single second of it, but seeing each other for the first look was definitely a highlight. Kyle tends to never stop talking, so to see him not know what to say was awesome. The weather wasn't cooperating the best but Lauren and Kyle never let this bother them. They exchanged vows at Lauren's childhood church and dined and danced the night away at the Willowdale Estate. Willowdale was beautifully decorated with photos of loved ones in small gold frames, and the tent's country tables were adorned with colors in a soft color palette. Lauren and her mom are very close and planned the wedding together. Even though Lauren's mom helped with every detail Lauren and her siblings still managed to surprise her mom with a birthday cake during the reception.
Photographing their weekend from the Friday night BBQ to Saturday night's dancing was so much fun for Enna and I, and we are so happy for these two love birds! We know they are off to do great things together and can't wait to see them again and how their family grows. Congratulations Lauren and Kyle!!! ~ Matt & Enna
