Kate and Dirk were married on July 26, 2014 with a ceremony and reception at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA.
This wonderful couple were really a joy to photograph. First, the Crane Estate held a lot of meaning as Kate's parents had been married there as well. Then these two - Kate & Dirk - each picked the perfect individual wedding style to match the location. Kate's hair was absolutely beautiful, and those red lips! The appliqué lace pattern on her dress added the exquisite finishing detail for her look. Dirk wore his grandfather's top hat - incredibly debonaire and perfectly classic. The wedding party also had some amazing headpieces - beautiful fascinators for the girls and more top hats for the guys. It felt like we were on a movie set.
Kate's father was remembered with a photo charm on her bouquet, and her brother was so honored to walk her down the aisle. The ceremony was very emotional and touching. Kate & Dirk chose to exchange Hawaiian leis as part of their ceremony. It was surprisingly fitting, even in this very non-Hawaiian venue.
After the ceremony, we had so much fun with Kate and Dirk capturing their formal portraits. They were down to be silly and we all laughed a lot - which makes for the best images. And the light!! It could not have been more perfect. Going into the reception, Kate and Dirk had one of the best choreographed first dances that we have ever seen! The whole night was filled with fun, dancing and lots of laughs celebrating these very special people.
Thank you Kate & Dirk for trusting us with your special day! We loved every minute!
