I am so excited to photograph Talia and Jon's wedding next month! When we first met Talia and Jon and I learned that they are kayakers I knew we had to get them onto the water for their engagement session. Talia and Jon happily obliged, and introduced me to one of their favorite ponds (I can't wait to take all my boys back to explore!!)
This seemed like a perfect prop for an engagement photo of two marine biologists:
Jon was eager to show off some of his kayak techniques - all for Talia, not me. :) It was such a joy to watch these two interact because they are totally head over heels enamored with each other. Or... head over kayaks! Here's Jon - press play to watch him get dunked:
As Jon packed up all the kayaking gear, I noticed that the lake was reflecting beautiful light onto Talia's face. It was about 8 pm, so the sky was really turning dark. I decided to try and squeeze just a little bit more light out of the evening before we called it quits.
When Jon was finished packing (and applying more bug spray) I asked him to join her and just stand together and enjoy the fading light for a moment.
I actually didn't have to push the camera too far, in case you're curious - it's shot at ISO 200, f 2.8, 1/50 second.
Lucky for me, Talia and Jon are having me design a custom guest signing book for their wedding day - there are so many fun shots from this session I don't know how I would ever recommend a single image for an announcement or signing frame!
Congratulations again Talia and Jon, I can't wait to photograph your New Hampshire wedding this summer!
